The Fremont County School District RE-2, Florence, Colorado, Board of Education, is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position no later than July 1, 2024.
McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the governing board in identifying and screening the candidates.

Location: Florence and Penrose, Colorado; 30 miles south of Colorado Springs, CO
The Qualifications
The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for leading a small, rural school district. The board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make.
The Board of Education specifically seeks an experienced leader who:
Places student success and preparedness for post-secondary experiences as the top priority
Values and seeks input from district stakeholders and partners effectively with the Board of Education
Demonstrates effective communication skills and models honesty, integrity, approachability, and objectivity
Has experience both teaching and leading in a small school district
Embraces the lifestyle associated with a small, rural, and agricultural community
Demonstrates resourcefulness especially in recruiting teachers, developing local talent, and fostering student resilience
Understands the many facets of small school district operations including federal and state requirements and reporting
Salary Range: $145,000 - $160,000 plus comprehensive benefits
