The Vanguard School’s Board of Directors is seeking an experienced leader and passionate educator to fully embrace the school’s mission and vision and serve as their next Executive Director. The Board expects the selected individual to assume the responsibilities of the position no later than June 1, 2024.

The mission of The Vanguard School is to help guide students in the development of their character and academic potential through academically rigorous, content-rich educational programs.

The Qualifications
In order to be considered for the position, candidates must be a proven leader with a track record of demonstrated results.
Specifically, the Board of Directors is searching for a leader who is fully committed to upholding The Vanguard School’s mission and values and possesses the following characteristics:
Leadership
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with inspiration and clarity
Confidence and courage in decision making
Demonstrated success in the classroom and in a senior leadership role
Knowledge of classical education and academic rigor
Commitment to developing the whole child through character development. academics, arts, and athletics
Consistently present and engaged throughout the school
Understands the diverse needs of all students and advocates for them along the K-12 continuum
Personal
Models high character and humility
Effective and articulate communication skills
Excellent judgment and emotional awareness
Possesses a strong self-awareness and is resilient in managing stress
Engages with others in a personable, tactful, and engaging manner
Organizational Oversight
Strong understanding of financial sustainability and budget development
Proven ability to hire, develop, retain, and support excellent faculty and staff
Commitment to data informed decision making
Understands charter school laws, policies, practices, and challenges
Proven experience with fundraising campaigns and grant writing
Salary Range: $135,000 - $165,000
