JG Consulting has engaged with the Community Independent School District to recruit candidates to serve as the Superintendent.
Established in 1947, Community ISD has been serving the students and families in southeast Collin County for 71 years. CISD attendance boundaries spread over 89 square miles and encompass the towns of Copeville, Josephine, Lavon, and Nevada. CISD is home to over 2,700 students attending our four campuses: NeSmith Elementary (Pre-K – 5th grade), McClendon Elementary (Pre-K – 5th grade and ESL program), Edge Middle School (6th – 8th grade), and Community High School (9th – 12th grade). A third Pre-K – 5th-grade elementary school is currently under construction.
In 2019, the District received an A-Rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and has remained an A-Rated District since then. In 2020, Community High School was named a “Best High School” by US News and World Report, and the District received a Superior Rating for the 5th consecutive year from the state’s school financial accountability rating system, known as the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). CISD offers a safe and caring learning environment with low student-to-teacher ratios. Our teachers average over a decade of experience and are dedicated to providing the individual attention each student needs while cultivating a passion for learning in every child. To support their passion for learning, CISD provides our students with the necessary tools to engage in the curriculum and expand the learning environment. The District’s 1:1 student device initiative starts with iPad Minis in each elementary classroom. Every Pre-K through the First Grader is issued an iPad Mini, and from second grade onward every student is issued a Google Chromebook.
