The Superintendent of Seekonk Public Schools invites highly qualified candidates to apply for the
position of Director of Student Services.
The Seekonk Public Schools are located in Bristol County in Southern Massachusetts. Seekonk is a
community with a population of 15,548 (as of 2017) located 56 miles south of Boston and 6 miles east
of Providence, RI. The school system educates a diverse population of approximately 2,000 students,
and consists of two elementary schools (Grades PK-5), one middle school (Grades 6-8) and one high
school (Grades 9-12).
The Director of Student Services is the leader of the Student Services Department and works with
principals, staff, and the superintendent to design, implement, and evaluate educational program
delivery through a continuum of special education services. The Director will provide vision, possess the
skills and knowledge to achieve systemic change, and develop specialized curriculum and instruction.
The successful candidate must possess a Master’s degree (or beyond) in an appropriate field, and must
have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in public education, two of which must be the area
of special education. Demonstrated experience in developing and overseeing operational budgets, and
demonstrated knowledge of special education laws and requirements, are necessary. Current
Massachusetts Licensure as a special education administrator is required. For a complete job

The Seekonk School District offers a regionally competitive salary (in the range of $110,000 to $120,000
per year) and a benefits package commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of
