JG Consulting has engaged with the Lancaster Independent School District to recruit qualified candidates to serve as the Chief of Communications.

The Chief of Communications serves as principal advisor providing comprehensive and proactive communications, strategies and planning, media relations, and news analysis to the Superintendent, Board of Trustees and Leadership Team.  The Chief of Communications is responsible for all Lancaster ISD communications.  This means working collaboratively with the Leadership Team and other key stakeholders and setting the vision for and leading the Communications Team, including internal and external communications, media relations, social media, Lancaster ISD external and internal websites, marketing, strategic communications and multicultural outreach. The Chief of Communications will promote positive public relations between the school district and community. Additionally, the Chief of Communications will prepare and provide information to the public about the activities, goals, and policies of the school district. This role includes the distribution of pertinent information about the district and its activities to employees.

Lancaster ISD serves approximately 7,400 students with nearly 900 employees. The city of Lancaster is located in Dallas County which is in close proximity to many attractions including professional sports venues and cultural exhibits across the DFW metroplex. The district has earned 168 TEA campus academic distinctions and one district distinction in the past seven years. The district holds a B rating; this includes 38 academic distinctions with 100% of campuses meeting or exceeding standards and a coveted District Distinction in Post-Secondary Readiness. Lancaster ISD made history as the first district in Texas to establish the Dollars for College Savings Plan. The plan will allow parents to enroll their students, beginning in kindergarten. Lancaster ISD was the first K-12 STEM district in the state of Texas. Since then, we have continuously advanced by creating a pipeline to area colleges and universities for STEM majors and careers.
