Bilingual Consulting Partner, English Learner Academics

TNTP seeks a full-time Bilingual Consulting Partner, English Learner Academics for the Southwest region. This position is based in a home office anywhere in Texas and is available immediately. Frequent travel across the Southwest region of up to 40% is required.

Staff on TNTP’s Consulting team work alongside teachers, school leaders, districts and states to help them achieve their goals for students. We work to help educators, schools, and school systems expand access to opportunity for students. Partners on the Consulting team focus on supporting systems to provide equitable, high-quality opportunities to students by growing our talent and academics consulting work.

What You’ll Do
The Partner is a critical leader at TNTP – driving the development of services, managing a portfolio of client engagements or contracts within our client services team, and serving as a face of the organization to our district partners and external stakeholders.  As a Partner focused on the academic success of English learners, you will work to develop and implement a strategy for growing our consulting services with the goal of ensuring we are closing the opportunity gap and creating equitable educational experiences for students who are learning English across the Southwest.

The primary job responsibilities include: 

  • Lead the regional strategy efforts, including the ability to develop a clear vision and purposeful strategy for serving ELLs across the Southwest region
  • Lead the implementation of new and innovative programs and oversee existing partnerships that serve students learning English as another language with a particular focus on dual language bilingual education
  • Provide expert knowledge on educational policies and regulations meant to protect the civil rights of English learners’ access to educational opportunities, and effectively advocate for students when those rights are violated
  • Lead TNTP’s academic strategy work across the Southwest region with senior clients at urban or rural school districts or CMOs to support growing bilingual and English learner student populations 
  • Manage a portfolio of a variety of consulting contracts across the Southwest region and manage teams towards achieving contract goals 
  • Build and manage a network of external partnerships whose goals are aligned with TNTP’s vision for bilingual and English learner populations

  • Build relationships. You’ll regularly partner with districts and communities in the Southwest region. You have an ability to connect and build relationships with diverse communities. Bilingual and biliterate abilities in Spanish required.  
  • Translate strategy into effective partnerships. You provide leadership, strategic direction, decision making, and client and team management necessary to ensure the success of TNTP’s work with a portfolio of district and charter partners. You utilize long-term planning and quality controls to ensure contract goals are met and that ongoing work is stable and sustainable.
  • Authentically collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. You build and manage high-level client relationships to ensure client investment in our ongoing partnerships.
  • Model cross-cultural agility.  Authentic self-reflection, self- awareness, and high emotional intelligence are central to who you are, and you utilize these skills to shape a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, that influences how you think about your work.  You have an adept cultural understanding of yourself and use your understanding of yourself and others to build trusting relationships with direct reports, colleagues and clients. 
  • Motivate and influence others to act. We’re counting on your ability to develop strong relationships with senior level district, state, charter management organization and community partners, investing them in your vision for TNTP’s work.  
  • Hire, develop, manage and retain talent. One of your greatest responsibilities will be to hire, onboard, manage and develop TNTP’s amazing people. You create and lead an inclusive work environment and shape a department that reflects TNTP’s unique culture and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Lead and support business development. You understand and consider external conditions that affect the organization’s work, actively advocate for change, and successfully lead sales efforts with new and existing partners that align to strategic priorities, ensuring we meet budget and revenue targets. You have a strong external network and can build relationships and identify options for new sources of funding for TNTP at the local and national level. 


  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish required
  • Deep understanding of English Language standards followed in Texas and the Southwest 
  • Experience leading a bilingual education program, teaching English learners in an ELD or dual immersion program and/or training and coaching of ELD teachers 
  • Education certificate or degree in curriculum and instruction with focus on SLA, TESOL and/or applied linguistics (preferred) 
  • Deep understanding of the education landscape and business development opportunities for supporting students learning English across the Southwest but with particular focus on Texas
  • Senior level experience working in or with leadership in school districts or CMOs and leading complex organizational change efforts, including the ability to develop a clear vision and purposeful strategy to achieve ambitious goals 
  • Excellent management skills, including experience effectively managing diverse teams, building inclusive team culture and developing talent to achieve ambitious goals 
  • Excellent project management skills and an ability to work efficiently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, including financial forecasting and maximizing revenue

TNTP offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position with the potential for an annual performance-based bonus.
