Salary: $147,583 – $152,693 per year

SUMMARY: Provide leadership, direction, and expertise in curriculum and instruction, professional development, and secondary education.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively works with the Superintendent and Administrative Cabinet to develop and monitor district policy and administrative regulations related to Organizational Leadership. Develop and implement operational plans and processes to accomplish strategic goals. Assist and motivate others in achieving personal, professional, and district goals. Offer insightful and useful feedback to school leaders to support the academic and behavioral improvements of students. Identify, analyze, and resolve problems that impact the district. Maintain a regular presence in district buildings and at district events for the purpose of monitoring the effectiveness of programming. Use strategic initiatives and district performance data to identify appropriate professional development opportunities for staff within the district. Work appropriately within the role of instructional leader, while providing clear direction for teachers and administrators regarding curricular decisions. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws/regulations and provide professional development to the administrative team. Oversee the following district-wide initiatives: 6-12 Student Services (discipline, truancy, etc); Safety and Security; PBIS/SEL; Executive Sponsor (w/ Exec. Director) PK-12 Math Initiative. Provide administrative leadership for the 6-12 PLC Coordinator/AVID Coordinator, Secondary MTSS Coaches, K-12 Counselors, and Secondary Administrators. Collaborate with the District and departments to ensure accurate and appropriate evaluation of programs and services; ensure use of evaluation data for school and program improvement and determine training needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directly supervise and evaluate: 6-12 PLC Coordinator/AVID Coordinator; Secondary Principals. Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Valid Washington state certification. Former experience as a core-content secondary classroom teacher. Must have documented evidence of academic growth and achievement of students as a teacher in the area of literacy and/or math. Current or former secondary principal experience. Documented evidence of academic growth and achievement of students as an administrator in the area of literacy and/or math. Expertise in the areas of secondary literacy and/or math. Expertise in the areas of PBIS, SEL, and PLCs. Documented evidence of leading school cultural change and growth in the adult implementation of robust PBIS/SEL systems and procedures. Experience planning, evaluating staff, and conducting professional development/training. Attendance and punctuality are important in this position.
