Job Description


Reports to:                  Director of Admission

Work Schedule:         10-month position; Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Basic Function:  As the first contact prospective families may have, this position requires complete knowledge of the school, its mission, and the many nuances of the three divisions. The Director of Hispanic Student Outreach and Support will offer outstanding customer service by having full knowledge of the admission process. As an Assistant Director of Admission, he or she will assist the team with all aspects of the admission process and also provide additional support services available to Hispanic families upon enrollment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Represent the school and its program to prospective families through meetings, tours, fairs, and other community events
  2. Counsel prospective Hispanic families as they work through the admission process
  3. Articulate the school's mission as it relates to the admission process
  4. Plan, implement, and attend admission events throughout the year. These primarily weekend events, include interview days for all grades, grade specific parent information meetings, school wide open houses, and any other admission related gatherings on and off campus
  5. Have a comprehensive understanding of Lower, Middle, and Upper School students
  6. Compile and present applicant profiles to admission committee members
  7. Be a positive, supportive member of the admission team
  8. Develop a strategic plan to identify, admit, support, and grow the Hispanic student community at Lovett
  9. Utilizing Lovett’s existing support structures and in coordination with the Director of Multicultural Programs and Services, provide ongoing support to prospective and enrolled students and families who identify as Hispanic

Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license
  • Five to seven years of experience in an independent school setting or five years of progressive experience in the field of Admissions. Strongly prefer candidate with experience working with Hispanic students and families
  • The drive, organization, and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including large-group settings, and the ability to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues
  • A strong desire to work in a collaborative office, employing a growth mindset and working effectively in a diverse team
  • Superior client service skills, internally and externally
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • At various times throughout the year, the employee is required to work outside of regular business hours for job-related functions. The employee will receive as much advance notification as possible for these events and is required to attend them as part of their essential duties
