The Thornton Fractional High School District 215 Board of Education announces the opening of a search for a new Superintendent due to the retirement of their Superintendent of 11 years, Dr. Creg E. Williams on June 30, 2018. The position offers an outstanding opportunity for a strong, committed individual to lead this diverse premier high school district, beginning July 1, 2018.

 

Thornton Fractional High School District serves more than 3,400 students from the communities of Burnham, Calumet City, Lansing, and Lynwood. Students are serviced in four highly maintained high schools, Thornton Fractional North, Thornton Fractional South, Thornton Fractional Center for Academics and Technology, and Thornton Fractional Center for Alternative Learning.  The district is located about 25 miles south of downtown Chicago.

 

With a commitment to rigor and student involvement, the district offers high quality academic courses and an array of clubs and activities.  These offerings are designed to provide the diverse populations of students with a wide variety of opportunities to prepare them for a seamless transition to successful post high school experiences.
