Turned 3 low performing schools into the highest performing in the district and state through effective data analysis, teacher capacity, and collaboration.
What are you most proud of professionally?
I am most proud of the relationships I have created with all my staff and the amazing work we do daily for our kids and community.
What is one of the biggest challenges facing educators today?
Equity, and ensuring kids of all backgrounds and nationality get what they deserve in our great educational system.
Why is a program like SLA important for Latino educators?
As a Latina woman of color, it is important for leaders like myself who represent both Blacks and Hispanics to be a champion for education and a role model for Black and Brown students to look up to and aspire to become. Representation matters.
