Hector Garcia, PhD, is the Superintendent at Plano Community School District 88 in Plano, Illinois. He has been an educator for over 20 years with a background as a teacher, High School Principal, and district administrator. His educational experiences range from working in a predominantly low-income minority school to some of the most affluent and high-performing schools including Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois.

Dr. Garcia’s has presented throughout the country on topics ranging from developing a culture of high academic rigor to Professional Learning Communities at Work. He deeply understands the multitude of challenges that educators face in transforming schools where staff members have a laser focus on helping all students experience high levels of academic success. As a bilingual child from a low-income family, he knows first hand the power that teachers, administrators, and schools can have on a student’s future. 

Dr. Garcia received a doctorate in education leadership and policy studies from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Garcia has been married for over 20 years and has four amazing kids.  He enjoys spending most of his free time watching his kids' dance performances, as well as soccer and lacrosse games. He is also a very competitive tennis player and a passionate foodie.
